The live broadcast of Dieterich: This Is Our Story on air and online tonight, April 25 th at 7pm.
WEIU is presenting Dieterich: This Is Our Story which features the town’s community members as they share stories that are important to Dieterich and its history. The program features 16 storytellers, all with unique tales of local businesses and events that helped form Dieterich as it is known today.
WEIU had the pleasure of interviewing Dieterich residents about topics closely related to them. Featured in the program is Bill McClain and Cary Jackson with the Dieterich schools, John Wright with Wright’s Furniture & Flooring, Tom Niebrugge with Dieterich Bank, Brittny Gipson and Brad Hardiek with stories on business and residential buildings, Traci Bruns and Charity Bohnhoff with the Wright Family Center and House Raffle, Brett Higgs with Higgs Welding, Carrie Galbraith with History of Dieterich, Valerie Sanguinetti with the Machine Gun Company and Fritscher Family, Donnie Dorn with the Veteran’s Memorial, Gisele Hamm with the Mapping the Future of Your Company program, Scott Wohltman talking about the Red Top Capital of the World, Diane Aherin with Dieterich volunteerism, and Tom Wright with the Dieterich Community Development Corporation.
The program will be shown live on WEIU tonight, April 25 th at 7pm. Throughout the program, there will be 3 ten-minute pledge breaks where viewers will be invited to call and speak with one of the storyteller phone operators to order their own DVD, Blu-ray, or flash drive; they will also be tallying up orders to announce callers’ names during the event. This is a fundraiser to help WEIU continue what they do. A donation of $75 will get you one DVD, Blu-ray, or flash drive; a $60 donation per item will get you 2 or more of any media combination. You can donate during the live show by calling the number at the bottom of your screen or through our website www.weiu.net.
We are so excited to share these stories to the world on WEIU-TV, at weiu.net for those who live within the WEIU viewing area, and streaming on the WEIU-TV Public Broadcasting Station Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on Local Now, Hulu+ and YouTube TV.
The program was made possible thanks to the underwriters; Dieterich Bank, Niebrugge Lumber Company, Inc., Wright’s Furniture & Flooring, Village of Dieterich, EJ Water, and the Illinois Arts Council.
