The 3rd annual Kickoff to Education Breakfast will be held Wednesday, September 6 at Keller Convention Center from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The breakfast provides an opportunity for the community to learn how Effingham County schools are aiming at putting innovation into action to provide students the greatest opportunity to be successful and next generation innovators.
Public and parochial school representatives will provide an update on creative programs, teacher leadership development and use of innovation and technology in the classroom. In addition, those in attendance will learn about cooperative efforts to connect students to career exploration and opportunities with programs like CEO, CTEC, Health Occupations and the future Effingham Regional Career Academy.
Lisa Teichmiller, Effingham County CEO Facilitator, will serve as emcee and members of the 2017-2018 CEO Classes will serve as hosts at the event.
“Effingham County places a high value on education because of the opportunities it provides to strengthen our communities. Whether our students opt to attend college, study a trade or enter the workforce, they are receiving the education and skills needed to be productive citizens.” said Chamber President & CEO Norma Lansing. ”Despite state funding cuts, budget challenges and the everyday challenges of the world of education, our area schools provide students of all ages with many opportunities to learn.”
Tickets to the event are $15 per person and may be purchased at the Chamber office at 903 North Keller Drive in Effingham or online at www.effinghamcountychamber.com.
The event is open to the public.
